Last Summer, the only game that mattered was Fortnite. The game was very popular in 2018 and remains popular today. But it’s no longer the insane phenomenon that it was last year.
Screenrant has a preview of the Top 20 Games for Summer 2019 and they think these will be very popular.
- Cadence of Hyrule
- Rage 2
- A Plague Tale: Innocence
- Team Sonic Racing
- Persona
- Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
- Jugdment
- The Sinking City
- Super Mario Maker 2
- Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers
- Dragon Quest Builders 2
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Wolfenstein: Youngblood
- Control
- Shenmue III
- Astral Chain
- Catherine: Full Body
- Phoenix Point
- Borderlands 3
Of all of these games, Borderlands 3 probably has the most promise, but two issues. First, it’s a sequel so it probably won’t be a breakout hit. At least not in the same way that Fortnite was. And another issue is that it won’t come out until September 13. So it won’t really be a “Game of the Summer.”
Maybe the next Fortnite is…Fortnite. It’s still incredibly popular even if it has been diminishing in overall interest over the year.
I’ll keep playing Fortnite, but I won’t be spending as much time on video games this Summer. I’ve become a little addicted to anime this year and I am watching more and more.
My favorite anime series are:
- Cowboy Bebop
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Dragon Ball Z
- Code Geass
- Naruto Shippuden
I’m watching all of my anime on Kissanime and Crunchyroll.
